The Syro Malankara Catholic Church commemorate the remembrance of Venerable Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios on July 15th of every year. Mar Ivanios Day 2026 marked the 73rd commemoration of Venerable Archbishop Mar Ivanios and the celebrations held in St. Mary’s Major Archeparchial Cathedral, Pattom, Trivandrum. His Eminence Cardinal Antony Poola, the President of the CBCI and the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad joined with us for the entire celebrations. Our Bishop Aboon Mar Paulos and many of our diocesan clergy has actively participated in the celebrations of the Mar Ivanios Day. This year, we the diocese of Marthandam had a special word of appreciation for Very Rev. Fr. Eugene William rendered by His Beatitude Moron Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, the Head and Father of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church on his special appointment by the Holy See as the Secretary to the Nunciature to Iraq. And His Grace Archbishop Mar George, the Apostolic Nuncio of Kazakistan.
